"This is my grandmother's Cuban picadillo (ground pork hash/chili) recipe that's typically served with white rice, beans and plantains. Picadillo also goes superb with mashed potatoes and may be made without the squash. This dish is a fave at domestic so I typically make 2 kilos to have leftovers for making empanadas (meat pies) tomorrow. Picadillo also freezes properly. Of course my youngsters say this is the satisfactory picadillo they've ever had and I need to agree!"
Ingredients :
- 2 kilos lean floor pork
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 1/2 onion, chopped
- half green bell pepper, chopped
- 2 tablespoons minced garlic
- 2 (8 ounce) cans tomato sauce
- 2 cups water
- half cup crimson cooking wine
- three tablespoons hot sauce (including Louisiana®)
- 1 (1.41 ounce) package deal sazon seasoning (which includes Badia® Tropical®)
- 1 tablespoon chopped clean parsley
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- half of teaspoon onion powder
- half of teaspoon floor cumin

- Cook and stir floor red meat in a massive stockpot till browned, 5 to 10 mins. Drain grease.
